    Matt’s Blogumn #3: Player Rankings

    Whether or not you’ve noticed, there are some long-awaited new player rankings up on the forums. I’m sure that you guys have read the rankings, re-read the rankings, taken them to bed with you, and have come to settle in one of four schools of thought:

    (a) You figured “Hey, a bunch of good players are at the top, seems pretty reasonable to me”, and went along your way.
    (b) You thought “Why are there decimal places here?”, wondered whether this makes any sense, and you’re still sitting here trying to comprehend it.
    (c) You noticed the decimal figures, concluded that I was just “spamming numbers”, and went to post on GameFAQs about it.
    (d) You groaned and thought “Matt is nerding up the SF4 rankings…I bet there’s a…

    Completely blank.

    Part of this is because our tournaments have been somewhat few and far between in the past year or so. Dating back to November 2007, we’ve had 3 Third Strike tournaments, with one soon to come at FFTF II (and we hope to see all of you there), and even less tournaments for the other games.     Matt’s Blogumn #1

    Due to the overwhelming number of requests (ie. 1) to see my writing at work on the front page, I’ve decided to put together my inaugural post. Not really sure what direction I’m going to take this column/blog/blogumn in; I could rant, I could review more movies, I might make up reader e-mails and answer them, post tips/etc for like the one game that I’m good at; I think when all is said and done, I’ll probably end up exploring the studio space with this blogumn.
