CDC 24 – Holiday Stories
Deck the halls with spite and elitism filled with poop stories and KFC coleslaw eating contests, it’s CDC Radio, back again, for our last episode of the year, our so-called “Christmas Special”.
We talk about whatever we want because that’s how boss we are. We share some tales and legends of stuffing food in our faces and expelling our bowels just in time for the holidays and rubbing it in the face of all those unfortunate third worldians.
Be sure to check and and vote for Dario’s track, “Do it Right” in Winnipeg’s Hot103 RadioStar 2011 contest hosted by SuperNova.com by for a chance to win $10,000 cash and a recording deal. Check out their track here: http://radiostar.supernova.com/bussoul#

As a thank-you for such a successful year with Chip Damage we’re going to be holding a Holiday Party for all our friends!
On December 18th at the University of Manitoba, come down to the GSA Lounge in University Center. Admission is free and open to everyone. The party will start at 4 and we’ll be having dinner around 6. I believe we will be serving Pizza and Fried Chicken. You’re also encouraged to bring drinks and snacks too. Like all of our gatherings, we will have stations for casuals open to everyone, and as always BYOC. In addition to that, we also will have board games and party games to play at the event. You are also encouraged to bring your own games.

The event will have a $20 gift limit. The gift exchange will take place at the Holiday Party. Sign up for the Secret Santa in this thread by December 4th. We’ll PM you your Secret Santa name on December 5th. If you happen to not know what kind of gift to get for your Secret Santa, we will try to give you some info for a gift. The First Christmas Blog Post From Me – Korea
It’s almost Christmas, and I’ve decided that I need to write a blog before the night before the Eve. Simply put, it’s going to be hectic tomorrow for everyone as well as on Christmas Day, and who could forget ol’ Boxing Day. I’m pretty much set on NOT going out on Boxing day since we all know I’ve pretty much got everything I wanted. New Monitor, better sound system, few new games to try out and such. I’ve been dabbling in too many games lately and it seems to be taking a toll on me. Those blasted MMORPGs known as Ragnarok Online and Mabinogi are somewhat taking up little bits of my time. I can’t say I’m addicted since most of you do see me on my PS3 Online. I’m either on STHD, Farcry 2, Fallout 3, or just recently to the addition, Smackdown vs. Raw 2009.
That’s right, I went out and bought a wrestling game.
Now normally I’m not a big fan of these games, simply because I never knew how to do ANYTHING in the games. Yes, I understand that there is only like 2 buttons to push, but I mean, I wanted the suplexes, the power bombs, and all the cool grapplings! Now that I have an instruction booklet and the internet. I can now officially play the game to my liking. It’s also fun creating members of the SSGA in the Create-a-Superstar mode of the game. I’ve currently got in the roster: myself, Steffan Fields, Tyler Sanderson, Matt Lehotsky, Duong Phu, Keith Bailey, and Dario. I’m working on Jayse and some others at this time. Currently though, after playing a bit of the game, I am now the ECW Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and USA Champion. Beating out Matt Hardy, Kane, and MVP respectively.
My initial thought on the game was like “Meh, I’ll give it a shot.”, but over time, I got from that to “OMG, DID YOU SEE THAT POWERBOMB I DID ON BATISTA!? THAT GUY IS LIKE 100 LBS HEAVIER THAN ME!”. Gameplay wise, it’s fun. Something you can enjoy by yourself or with some friends. The controls are a bit wonky, but not to the point where if you screw up nothing happens. Something is always bound to come out. The only thing that bothers me is when I got knocked down and I was actually “injured”, there is this little flashing statement under your Momentum bar that states “Rapidly Tap Action Buttons”, I don’t know what my action buttons are, I’ll be rubbing all the buttons left, right, and center, but it still won’t change to the “Tap X to Get up” stage. Not until like 20 seconds later when Kane/MVP/Matt Hardy are already up and smashing your face in. That’s pretty much my quarrel with the game.
The custom mode on the game is great. Very detailed and you can go and pretty much customize a crapload of stuff. Entrances, Themes, what you wear when you come in, and what you wear in the ring. When do the fireworks shoot out and stuff. My current entrance theme is Dance Like Michael Jackson by Far*East Movement (yes, they have an astrict or star in their name), anyone who has ridden in my car has heard the song. I’ll have to work on the other custom characters, but I kind of want some help with it.
If you’d like to see yourself in this game for an eventual Royal Rumble Match (much like Screwattack.com), then I set up a thread on the forums for such requests.
And yes, I did receive Farcry 2 as a Christmas gift from Duong (Thanks bud!). All I can say is that it’s going to be a while before I finish that game. With the vast world that it has and the realism of it, I’m going to have a difficult time playing it. At least I don’t have to play it on SD like I did with Fallout 3.
Interesting thing happened while I was paying for SvR2009 yesterday. I was standing in line at the Kenaston EB, waiting to trade in my copy of DMC4 and Resistance 2 (Both which bore the crap out of me) and I was listening on these parents who were buying gifts for their kids. This one parent pipes up “Man, look at these games, there’s just so much selection, back when we were young, all we had was Pong”, then these other ones are like “Yeah, look at some of the games, they let you dance, play instruments, go hunting, and exercise.” I couldn’t help but snicker at this comment, but it’s pretty much true that you can now play a video game that allows you to do things that your parents did when they were young. You know, when they were our age and had to go outside to dance, hunt, play instruments (well a garage), and sometimes exercise. I know it’s just a random thing, but I thought it was pretty interesting for them to be discussing that. Then the one parent was confused as to what NHL game they were gonna get their kid. So I turned around and asked what system they had (I know I don’t work there, but I can’t stand it when there is ignorance in the room), of course the parents did not know, so I pointed to the many signs inside of EB Games and asked, “Does it look like ANY of those ones?” to which the parent replied “It kind of looks like that rectangular one but camo’d.” Now I don’t know about you, but that to me was a very vague description, but the camo’d color thing kinda makes me think it was the original X-box. Poor kid, his parents are getting him the wrong game for the wrong system.
What game? NHL ’09 for the 360. Boy is that kid going to be disappointed. They should have just gotten him the 360 for Christmas. Oh well, they explained it horrible to me and the employee there also suggested the same game, so I guess I’m not at fault for ruining that kid’s Christmas.
I guess that pretty much all I can say for now. Have a safe and happy holidays, whatever you celebrate. This isn’t my last post of the year. That’s gonna be next week. Keep it real and peace! GGPO
