That Summer Tournament, better known as TST is Chip Damage’s biggest annual tournament we hold in August and have been for the last several years. Our roots are strong, comprised of our great community that has supported us through the thick and thin. But, this year, we are pushing it even further, making TST7 our biggest tournament to date. Bigger venue, more games, more prizes, more everything!

TST7 will NOT be taking place at the UofM as we have a NEW venue.  Also, the event WILL be streamed all of Saturday and Sunday with the possibility of CDC Radio doing their 40th episode live! Be sure to follow us over at TWITCH.TV.

TST7 Live

We got more good news!
TST 7 is an official Canada Cup 2012 Team Canada Wildcard Qualifier! The qualifier will be part of the AE2012 tournament that is happening at TST 7. This is open to Canadian players only.

If you win our AE2012 tournament, you qualify for the Wildcard 4 man tournament that will take place at Canada Cup on Oct 26th-28th in Calgary, AB.  If you win THAT tournament, you will earn the 5th spot on Team Canada in the Canada Cup International 5v5 team tournament!  Also, 50% of your plane ticket will be covered by CCG themselves!

Be aware that the Team Canada roster is comprised of 5 players with no character duplicates. This means if another qualifier tournament has run and a player using your character has already qualified, this automatically disqualifies the ability for the winning character to be used by anyone else. As CCG.Air is Team Captain, RYU is already locked. If a player using an already qualified character wins, the qualifying spot will be passed on to the next eligible placing player.

Just when you thought this couldn’t get any more hyped, we got word down the grapevine that there may be a little somethin’ somethin’ from Winnipeg’s very own Strata Studios! Our lips are sealed… just be sure to stick around, even when all the games are said and done.

As promised.  This year’s TST will be taking place outside the UofM.  It has been confirmed for Canad Inns on Pembina by the Tavern if you’re familiar.  Here’s the full address and the room number:

Ambassador Room A
Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry
1824 Pembina Highway
Winnipeg, MB   R3T 2G2

Venue Fee: $5.00

ph: (204) 261-7450   fx: (204) 261-5433
tf: 1-888 33-CANAD (22623)

There is a registration fee of $5.00 as it is necessary to cover the costs of the venue rental. However, if you don’t wish to enter tournaments, site entrance is free and gets you access to casual play, exhibitions, and/or money matches.

Registration usually begins 1 or 2 hours before each tournament, so get there early and warm up some too!

If you wish to enter any tournament, you pay for the tournament entry fees in addition to the $5.00.

All games will be played on US Playstation 3 consoles.

Teams will be single game all the way through and will be played under A-A B-B rules.  What that means is Player A from one team will face Player A from the other team in a single team and Player B from one team will face Player B from the other team.  If both players from one team win, they move on.  Otherwise, the two winning players will face each other in a tie-breaker.

UMVC3 singles will be 2/3 in the preliminary brackets and 3/5 during the Top 8.

We may have other things planned after all the tournaments are finished so feel free to stick around in case.

Standard EVO rule set. This includes banned wireless controllers.

This is a BRING YOUR OWN STICKS/CONTROLLER event!
The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use, make sure you have a friend who can donate.

For pad/PS2 stick players, we tend to have PS2 pads and/or converters around, but don’t take this as confirmation of us having them there for you. Bring your own to be safe as opposed to being disqualified for not having a controller available at time to play. We cannot hold up the tournament for your convenience.
