TST XIII (August 18-19, 2018)

Chip Damage, and Manitoba Smash 4, is proud to present Manitoba’s largest annual fighting game tournament! This is the one you’ve all been waiting for: all the games you love jammed into an action packed two day event at the University of Manitoba.
This is a Bring Your Own Controller/Console event. Please feel free to bring your own setups, stations, or controllers. All ages welcome. Join us at the University of Manitoba, University Centre August 18th and 19th for That Summer Tournament XIII!
Pre-Registration is not required, but is highly recommended as you will help brackets start sooner and give the TOs information to work with prior to the event and speed up the registration process. This information can also help us better schedule and accommodate future game lineups.

The event will be taking place at Room 220 – 224 in University Centre at the University of Manitoba on August 18-19th, 2018.
When entering University Centre from the main entrance, take the first set of stairs you see (on your right). At the top of the stairs, you will see a Tim Hortons. The venue is located just down the hallway to the left of that Tim Hortons.
Registration fee: $5
Entrance fee: $5 for each tournament (unless stated otherwise)
Team tournaments: $5 per person ($10 per team).
Spectating and casual play are free entry.
FGC Tournaments:
Cash prizes with nothing taken from the pot entries. The pot is split among top 3 with a 70/20/10 ratio.

Singles Bracket Payouts:
39 or less entrants (top 4 payout): 50/25/15/10
Between 40 and 63 entrants (top 6 payout): 45/20/15/10/5/5
64 or more entrants (top 8 payout): 40/20/15/10/5/5/2.5/2.5
Doubles Bracket Payout:
39 or less entrants (top 3 payout): 60/30/10
Between 40 and 63 entrants (top 4 payout): 50/25/15/10
64 or more entrants (top 6 payout): 45/20/15/10/5/5

This is a Bring Your Own Console event. Please feel free to bring your own setups, stations, or controllers. Players of all skill levels to come out and have fun at the event whether by supporting their friends, playing for fun or competing in the tournaments anyone who likes fighting games is welcomed at our events!
If you have food at the venue, CLEAN UP YOUR OWN MESS it’s only fair!
The console equipment will be labeled and registered to ensure its safety. However, please be careful with your sticks. Furthermore, if you know you’re attending and you do not have a stick to use, make sure you have a friend who can donate. Please avoid sharing a controller with someone else who’s entering any event that you’re also in, we can’t hold up an entire tournament while you wait for a controller.
Please bring extension cords and power bars if you have them available!
Tournament Rules:
-Rules are standard for every game unless noted otherwise:
-Double elimination tournament brackets with be best two out of three matches.
-Grand finals, Winners, and Losers finals are three out of five.
-Winner keeps same character, loser may switch character.
Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat XL are the only exceptions. They are 3/5 sets throughout the entire bracket.
A-cho Style Rules. Each player will face off with one of the opponents team members until all the members
of a team are eliminated in a FT1 match.
Team 1: A & B, Team 2: X & Y.
A plays X, and B plays Y. If X and Y win their matches, they progress, but if X wins and B wins, X plays B and the victor’s team goes through.
Winner must stick with their character/team in the current set they’re playing. (e.g. If X win and B win their matches, they cannot switch characters when they face each other). No additional character rules for team tournaments.
Match format is FT1 all the way through to Grand Finals.

Chip Damage - Winnipeg's Fighting Game Community is going to be at Garbonzo's every Tuesdays and Fridays at 8pm every week!

You can find us at the University of Winnipeg AnX Building, 471 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2E3

Bring your own setups as per a regular Friday gathering and bring it to Garbonzo's! There's no venue fee or cover charge, feel free to drop by and leave as you please.
